Autrey Mills Nature Preserve: Picnic and Hike

Join us for one last adventure....

Saturday, May 9th at 5:00PM

This year is rapidly coming to a close.  We have only 17 days before our scouts advance in rank!  This is a time for celebration.

Won't you join us at Autrey Mills in Johns Creek for a pack picnic and hike?

Each family is encouraged to come early and enjoy all the park has to offer including historic buildings, Native American dwellings, and a wildlife center. Then at 5:00PM meet the Pack (with your picnic in hand) at the pavilion for one last flag ceremony.

While you are enjoying the delicious picnic that your family provided and drinks which are compliments of the Pack, take a moment to help us acknowledge the achievements of each scout.  In addition to awarding achievement and elective beads, scouts will be receiving their rank badges.

As a continuing commitment to each scout, the Pack will also provide new handbooks for their advanced rank.  Scouts and their families are able to start working immediately on new achievements and electives! Over the summer think of everything you might accomplish beginning with the activities conducted at the Northern Ridge Cub Scout Camp held at Wills Park in June. During the overnight family camp out in June, scouts will also work on new achievements.

As a reminder, please put your name in your handbook immediately and keep it in a safe place.  We would hate for you to lose it over the summer.

We hope to see everyone at Autrey Mills!

Bowling is a BLAST

Summer Time is Fun Time!

In addition to our time at the Northern Ridge Cub Scout Camp and our first ever pack overnight campout, the scouts will enjoy almost any opportunity to be together over the summer.  One fun - indoor! - activity is the FREE kids bowling program offered by Stars and Strikes.

Sign your family up and the kids bowl 2 free games every day!

There's also an option to add up to 4 adults for $29.  This add-on allows those 4 adults to also play 2 games every day.  Why not sign up for yourself and add three other scouting parents? Then you are guaranteed a fun play date for adults and kids alike.

K9 Demonstration THIS FRIDAY!

This Pack has gone to the Dogs

Join us for the April Pack Meeting this Friday night!

Back by popular demand, Pack 285 is pleased to present a K9 demonstration by the Alpharetta Police Department.  This year we will host both active and retired K9 officers.  Come out to meet these wonderful service dogs and learn more about their contributions to our community.

In addition we are happy to give willing ADULT volunteers the full Take Down Experience! It's the chance of a lifetime to feel the full power of a K9.  Last year's volunteer was Cynthia Khan, Webelos Den Leader. She not only lived to tell about it but we also got some great video of the experience.  Who will be next?

For Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos, we ask that you all invite a friend to attend the meeting.  Ideally you would extend the invitation to someone who might enjoy scouting. We've also invited Kindergarten boys and their families to join us and learn more about the Tiger Scout program.

We look forward to seeing you, your scout and his friends at Friday's event.
