Welcome Back to School!

Time to get Scouting!

School has started for most counties in North Metro Atlanta and with this comes the start of a new scouting year.  Pack 285 is excited to welcome its current scouts back to Mountain Park Elementary, Crabapple Crossings and Amana Academy.  We look forward to meeting many new families as the recruitment period gets underway.

Visit us on Friday, August 21st at 1:00PM during the Club Expo in the cafeteria at Amana Academy for more information about membership, costs and activities.

Then meet up with us for the annual City of Alpharetta Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday, August 22nd! Pack 285 will gather in the front parking lot of Amana Academy at 9:30AM and walk over to this fun family event. Remember Touch-a-Truck is an optional event.  It's just a casual entertaining way for new and returning families to meet one another. Vehicles are available to "touch" from 10:00AM to 2:00PM in the area behind the city pool at Wills Park. Because of the soaring temperatures, we strongly encourage families to bring water bottles and dress for the heat. Also feel free to bring some cash if you are interested in purchasing a cold beverage or an ice pop from one of the vendors onsite.

Finally on Friday, August 28th at 6:00PM, Pack 285 will host Rally Night 2015.  This event allows interested boys and returning scouts to mingle with Boy Scouts from neighboring troops as they explore what scouting means through fun games and activities. Parents in attendance will have their questions answered about scouting and den leaders will be on-hand to establish meeting times and dates. Scouts submitting a completed application on Rally Night will automatically receive a free Raingutter Regatta kit as well as a Pinewood Derby car kit for use this year.
